Black Oath: Ov qliphoth and darkness
18/06/13 || Cobal
Doom and occult rock, stoner music and most traditional forms of metal have been trending for a couple years now and I couldn’t be any happier about it. Of course, when the genre you dig the most finally makes it big — even knowing that cannot last long— there are pros and cons. For now, I’ll focus only on the pros by saying there has been a whole wave of Sabbath disciples flooding the web, and Black Oath appears to be one of the worthiest with this fine release, “Ov qliphoth and darkness”. I won’t lie to you, what these guys are doing has been done for about forty years now, but they definitely pulled it off. If I were to mention the features that caught my attention here, those would be vocals, guitars solos, a couple bass lines and songwriting in general. I’ll rise my glass for these Italian fuckers!
8,5/10: It could be higher if they had been born half a century ago.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
